European IPTV research co-operation

NETvisor has joined NAPA-WINE, a research consortium supported by the European Union’s 7th Frame Program.

The Consortium, planned to be active between 2008-10 is going to research networking technologies enabling the massive deployment of IPTV (Television over IP Networks) services, as well as innovative technologies for the transition from mass TV service towards personalized TV.

The Consortium consists of the following members:

• Universities of Torino and Trento, as well as LightComm srl (Italy)
• École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications and France Telecom R&D (France)
• Budapest University of Technology, Magyar Telekom, NETvisor (Hungary)
• Warsaw University of Technology, Telekomunikacja Polska Group (Poland)
• NEC Europe Ltd (UK)
